Luas e Águas abre as portas pela última vez ao público para que, após uma visita guiada à exposição de grupo, se dê início à desconstrução (literal) dos trabalhos de Clarice Cunha. A artista convida-nos, depois, a uma acção experimental sobre os materiais, as formas e as funções que nos enchem os dias de sonhos de imortalidade. Com engenho, Sísifo enganou a própria morte - a autenticidade da vida - e, com isso, desconcertou a ordem das coisas do mundo, acabando a carregar uma pedra montanha acima que, para sempre, acabaria por deslizar. A partir do Sismógrafo, rua abaixo, acartaremos os nossos monumentos descartáveis, numa viagem entre dissimulações urbanas, índices de matérias, provas de cabimento e geologias do quotidiano. Para onde vamos com este penedo? É nas Fontainhas, sobre pedra antiga, que acabaremos a nossa viagem e encontraremos novas combinações para os nossos plintos efémeros. ~ Clarice Cunha (São Paulo, 1985) vive e trabalha no Porto. É mestre em Artes Plásticas com especialização em Escultura, pela Universidade do Porto (Porto, 2022) e licenciada em Arquitectura e Urbanismo pela Universidade Mackenzie (São Paulo, 2010). A sua prática artística articula diferentes camadas de experiência e leitura do ambiente construído. Através de uma linguagem plástica híbrida (instalações, intervenções, esculturas, fotografias, colagens), Clarice procura que os seus objectos reflictam sobre a presença humana na Terra e sobre como a intensa atividade industrial tem vindo a alterar a natureza deste ambiente. http://www.claricecunha.com.br/

Moons and Waters opens one last time to the public so that, after a guided tour of the group show, we can begin the (literal) deconstruction of Clarice Cunha’s works. The artist then invites us to join an experimental action with the materials, forms, and functions, which fill our daily lives with dreams of immortality. With much inventiveness, Sisyphus deceived death - life’s authenticity - and, with this, deranged the order of worldly things, ending up carrying a boulder up a mountain, only to find it sliding back down every time. Leaving Sismógrafo, we will take our disposable monuments downhill with us on a journey through urban dissimulations, material indexes, fitting trials, and daily geologies. Where are we heading to with this rock? It will be in Fontainhas, grounded by old stone, that we shall make our final stop and try to find new combinations for our ephemeral plinths. ~ Clarice Cunha (São Paulo, 1985) lives and works in Porto. She holds a master’s degree in fine arts with a specialization in Sculpture from the University of Porto (Porto, 2022) and a degree in Architecture and Urbanism from the Mackenzie University (São Paulo, 2010). Her artistic practice articulates different layers of experience with the reading of the built environment. Through a hybrid plastic language (installations, interventions, sculptures, photographs, collages), Clarice seeks to make her objects reflect on the human presence on Earth and how the intense industrial activity has been altering the nature of this environment. http://www.claricecunha.com.br/
