About the work:
“My personal experiences at a private sports club inspired the concept of a mass sporting event. Sports have consistently been a symbol in my work to avoid censorship, selected as a metaphor for resistance, endurance, hope, perseverance, and the essence of life.
In mass sporting events, physical abilities, gender, race, and age transcend to become a collective activity where winning and losing hold no significance. This sport promotes unity and celebrates collective well-being, making everyone a winner.
The shared areas encountered during this activity prompt a shift in our connection. It is important to consider the democratic and non-democratic aspects of these spaces.
This installation will transform the gallery into a half-stadium, creating an inclusive environment where all participants and spectators are on equal footing. My goal in rebuilding the half-stadium is to address the disparity that excludes a significant portion of society from enjoying stadium events. By doing so, I aim to contribute to a more equitable and inclusive public space.”
