mono presents 𝐏𝐎𝐎𝐅, a dance performance by Connor Scott
march 16th and 17th, 6pm
POOF is a site specific dance work for 8 performers which shape shifts from gesture to jump. The work operates as a site for excavation in which the body, its presence and surroundings are mined. Each performer adopts the role of a miner, extracting gestures, dances and remains that lie dormant in space, on the surface and in beneath. The work unfurls from a hypnotic edging of movements and oscillations that create room for the dwelling of micro details. Consequently, the room starts to fill with invocations and altered states of behaviour. As the work establishes momentum, it gains speed and propels the performers into a physical and mental mirage between fantasy and reality accumulating in a bacchanal of prancing bodies.
