Através de exames fotogramétricos, Luísa Tormenta preservou o seu corpo e o dos seus entes queridos, imortalizando a efemeridade das memórias e relações humanas num espaço liminar. Supra-Memento é uma especulação acerca da preservação da vida humana nos espaços digitais e sobre a forma como os corpos podem transformar-se em reflexos desmaterializados, resistindo assim à inevitável decadência que enfrentam as realidades tangíveis.
A técnica fotográfica utilizada transmite uma ilusão de volume, mas também expõe a fragmentação dos dados, revelando como estes também são conchas temporais, vulneráveis à desintegração. Assumindo o simbolismo da Vanitas, um género de natureza-morta comum na pintura dos séculos XVI e XVII, especialmente no Norte da Europa, na obra de Tormenta a sacralidade dos corpos entrelaça-se com a insignificância da matéria orgânica em decomposição. A obra assume a forma de uma instalação vídeo, criando um ambiente meditativo que envolve fisicamente os espectadores.
Luísa Tormenta é uma designer e criadora de imagens que trabalha na intersecção entre fotografia, imagem digital e design gráfico. Tem mestrado em Fotografia pela ECAL (Lausanne, Suíça) e licenciatura em Design de Comunicação pela ESAD (Porto). A prática de Luísa Tormenta explora os comportamentos humanos e as interconexões em ambientes digitais, refletindo sobre novos paradigmas que surgem através de uma digitalização expandida.
Através da natureza ilusória das técnicas de imagem digital – como a fotogrametria ou a manipulação digital – Luísa Tormenta concebe narrativas visuais e sensoriais que esbatem a perceção da realidade e da ilusão, tomando muitas vezes a forma de instalações imersivas de imagem em movimento.

Through photogrammetry scans, Luísa Tormenta has preserved her body and those of her loved ones, immortalising the ephemerality of human memories and relationships in a liminal space. Supra-Memento speculates on the preservation of human life in digital spaces and on how bodies can morph into dematerialised reflections, thereby resisting the inevitable decay that faces our tangible realities.The photo-technique conveys an illusion of volume, while also exposing the fragmentation of the data, revealing that these too are temporal shells, vulnerable to disintegration. Imbued with the symbolism of Vanitas, a genre of still life painting common in the 16th and 17th centuries, particularly in northern Europe, the work intertwines the sacredness of the body with the insignificance of decaying organic matter. The work takes the form of a video installation, creating a meditative environment that physically engages the viewer.
Luísa Tormenta is a designer and image maker working at the intersection of photography, digital imaging, and graphic design. She holds an MA in Photography from ECAL (Lausanne, Switzerland) and a BA in Communication Design from ESAD (Porto).
Her practice explores human behaviour and interconnections within digital environments, reflecting on the new paradigms created by the expansion of digitalisation. Through the illusory nature of digital image techniques, such as photogrammetry or digital manipulation, Tormenta designs visual and sensory narratives that blur the perception of reality and delusion, which often take the form of immersive moving-image installations.
