AGAMA AGAMA De Liceiras 18 welcomes you back to their monthly Open Studios Agama Agama, is a species of lizard, the name is inspired by ‘temperature-dependant sex determination’ TSD. This process was first coined in the book Agama Agama, written by Madeleine Charnier. With the fragility of the climate on earth, certain populations of reptile, turtle and crocodilians are being affected by this process. The temperature of incubation determines the sex of these species. In extremely high or low temperatures eggs become male and in medium temperatures become female. 5 artists have been in incubation. Agama Agama seemed appropriate as it involves bringing into dialogue their shared interests in gender and ecology, and their experience through an incubator-like residency. Please come and join us for a free exhibition night of art, music, and to see what our artists-in-residence have been up to this month. +Free alcohol and food. 20:00 Studios Open - join us! 21:00 Eco-Feminist Symposium - an interactive discussion from some of our residents.
