1st Artistic Summer Creative Camp at O Fojo Permaculture Portugal From 06th of August to September 04th 2016 O Fojo Permaculture | Integral Education Center launches it's First Creative Camp as a Artistic Residence experience opening a possibility for the participations of maximum 6 artists to a one moon cycle of pure creativity and joy! We are going to work with a multidisciplinary team to create an artistic environment at this iconic Permaculture Project in Portugal. Nature will be our inspiration and our source of materials. We are searching for people wanting to create individual and colective artistic projects in this following areas: Building (straw, clay, wood, bottles, etc...) Sculpture (sand, clay, lime, ferrocement, wood, cane, rocks, etc...) Mural sculpture (clay, ferrocement, tadelakt, etc...) Land art (natural materials, natural paintings, etc...) Painting (clay painting, pigment painting, wood painting, etc...) Gardening (rock, wood, straw, cane, plants, flowers, paintings, etc...) Graphic design, Video, Design, Pottery, etc... Do you have another idea? Tell us and lets fit it into the needs of the place! We are really open to unusual and unexpected intuitive creations! In Permaculture we don't do the things just by doing. We follow the ethics of Permaculture (earth care, people care and fair share) and also a set of natural patterns and principles that we will be in contact at O Fojo, in the first week. At the same time, whatever we are going to create should accomplish at least with three functions! The idea is that we can do something awesome creative, useful and ecological, either it is durable or efemerous! We are searching for open minded people to create innovative spaces, pieces of art, imprinting their hands and hearts with love to create natural art master pieces of O Fojo! The idea is to bring art to this natural place and Permaculture project, integrating the power of creativity at the Integral Education Center. We want to spread the results of this creative camp on the social midia and start having this event every year! If you ressonate with this call, this month at O Fojo Permaculture is for you! This is a proposal that we will evaluate and decide together at the first days of the event: First week Connecting to the natural environment of O Fojo Meeting each other and get us to know ourselves Creating the group culture for the month Creating the individual expectation for the month Adapting to the place schedule and the community tasks Adapting to the community daily practices (circular processes, meditation) Getting to know Permaculture Getting to know Dragon Dreaming Getting to know Sociocracy Getting to know the land and the necessities of intervention Getting to know the natural materials available Create together and individually the material goals for the month Creating all the signs for the place Co-creation of a group artistic project Individual creation of artistic project Second week Sharing our skills Sharing dreams and visions for the future Definitions of the materials Gathering, transport and preparation of the materials Shopping, ordering and receiving the needed material, if necessary Hands on the projects! Third week Hands on the projects! Integration with the EarthSky Lab Retreat Camp participants, meals, breaks, and some community sessions, relax days and celebrations nights Fourth week Hands on the projects! The last days to finish! Community practices, evaluations and final celebration! Coming back home! Where? August 06th to September 4th where the first day is a day to arrive and to set camp and he last one to go home happily! If you want to stay with us as a volunteer after this period please mention it in your applyance specifiyng the possible dates! Accomodation Bring your own tent and a good matress to be confortable! We have hot shower and a dry toilet available! We have no electricity and no internet at O Fojo. We have a shopping and cleaning day on saturdays and if you really need to connect the outside world you can go to the library on saturday mornings where you will find a free internet, computers, wifi... (8 km from O Fojo, in the beautiful village of Ansião). This way you can also take this timeas a retreat near the nature. Main Daily Rythm (summer schedule) From Monday to Saturday in the first two weeks (sunday is a rest day) 3 periods of 4 days in the second two weeks (each 4 days, 1 rest day) 06:00 Group meditation (not mandatory but encouraged) 07:30 Breakfast 08:30 Morning Circle 09:00 Session 1 10:30 Coffe Break 11:00 Session 2 12:30 Lunch 14:30 Session 3 16:00 Tea Break 16:30 Session 4 18:00 Free time 19:00 Dinner 22:00 Silence 6 focused hours work a day (according to the summer schedule) Participation on the daily tasks at the first two weeks of the event Food, alcool and drugs All the meals are included (breakfast, coffe break, lunch, tea break, dinner) Most of the ingredients are organic/local and we are going to cook together during the first two weeks of the event. When the Permaculture Course starts at the 16th of July we will have a cook for us to get focused on our projects! The food is a delicious vegetarian/raw/vegan We drink no alcool in events, except moderatly in the celebration days No other drugs are allowed at O Fojo Permaculture Smoking is allowed in restricted areas (it will be forest's fire time!) The water we will drink is from a safe spring located at 1km from our land Prices This month at O Fojo Permaculture includes: Complete food (3 main meals and 2 break meals a day) Camping area + Hot shower Venue visit Daily meditation + Daily community practices and living experience Personal design in Permaculture opportunity 3 hours Introduction to Permaculture Workshop Group facilitation on the first 3 days of the event Group facilitation on the morning circles (every day, except the relaxing days) 1 hour personal coaching session, if requested Group and individual guidance trough the process Weekly meeting to evaluate the advances in the projects Final personal and group evaluation Creativity freedom on the creative process, based on the real necessities of the venue in terms of implementation and on the available materials and budget Disclosing of the materialized arts on our website and facebook All of the creations are going to be part of O Fojo Permaculture Project and they can be used to promote our events, residences, activities, etc...
