FANTASPORTO´2024 ENCERRA OFICIALMENTE A 9 DE MARÇO COM A SUPERPRODUÇÃO CHINESA "CREATION OF THE GODS I: KINGDOM OF STORMS”
Pelas 21:00hs de 9 de Março realiza-se a SESSÃO DE ENCERRAMENTO OFICIAL E DE ENTREGA DE PRÉMIOS da 44ª edição do Festival Internacional de Cinema do Porto | Fantasporto´2024 e que integra a apresentação do superprodução chinesa Creation of the Gods I: Kingdom of Storms
Dizer que este é um magnífico épico cheio de fantasia e beleza é pouco. Nada como ver como a cinematografia chinesa se mede já por parâmetros de excelência narrativa e técnica num festival de sumptuosidade e entretenimento, ao mesmo tempo que mergulha o espectador nas lutas míticas entre humanos, imortais e monstros há mais de 3000 anos antes. Um espectáculo de grandes efeitos visuais, de artes marciais e romance através dos quais conhecemos os poderosos e os humildes nas suas lutas pelo poder, o afecto familiar e a crueldade. Durante a dinastia Chang, a Grande Maldição ameaça todos, especialmente o novo rei que se vê a braços com os dilemas de honra e do poder, da fraternidade e do abuso, enquanto se recusa a aceitar que a sua amada é um ser mágico temível. Vencedor do prémio Golden Rooster para o Melhor Filme Chinês de 2023.
Saying that this is a magnificent epic filled with beauty and fantasy feels short. Chinese Cinema already uses parameters of excellence both of narrative and technique as it is clearly visible in this film, a festival of sumptuousness and entertainment that places the audience in the mythological fights of humans, monsters, and wondrous beings 3 000 years ago. With great visual effects, martial arts and romance, we meet the powerful and the humble in their fight for power, family love or cruelty. During the Chang Dynasty, the Great Curse threatens everybody, especially the young King who faces the dilemmas of honour and power, brotherhood and abuse, while refusing to accept that his lover is a terrible magic entity. The winner of the Golden Rooster, an award for the Best Chinese Film of the Year.

Nasceu em 1972 na Mongólia. Estudou na Academia Central de Belas Artes e depois na Academia de Cinema de Beijing. Em 2004 produziu e realizou “Soap Opera” que ganhou o Prémio FIPRESCI no Festival de Busan. Seguiu-se “The Butcher, the Chef and the Swordsman” (2011) que venceu o Golden Horse de Realização e de Argumento. Seguiu-se uma premiada carreira com “Mijin: The Lost Legend” (2015), o segundo maior êxito de bilheteira na China. “Creation of the Gods I: Kingdom of Storms” (2023) é a sua mais recente super-produção. vencedora do Prémio de Melhor Filme Chinês do Ano.
Born in Mongolia in 1972. Studied in the Central academy of Arts and at the Cinema Academy in Benjing. In 2004, he produced and directed “Soap Opera”, winner of the FIPRESCI AWARD in the Busan Film Festival. This was followed by “The Butcher, the Chef and the Swordsman” (2011), winner of a Golden Horse awards of Direction and Screenplay. Next in a brilliant career came “Mijin: The Lost Legend” (2015), the second largest box-office in China. “Creation of the Gods I: Kingdom of Storms” (2023) is his most recent feature, winner of a Golden Rooster for Best Film of the Year.
