Yann Gourdon volta após ter actuado no hotelier em janeiro de 2020, agora com ffgy. ffyg, duo composto por Yann Gourdon (vielle à roue) e Filipe Felizardo (guitarra eléctrica), é o resultado de um convite recíproco de ambos, ocorrido há já sete anos. Em Janeiro de 2020, a Trás-os-Montes Records providenciou que os dois músicos pudessem finalmente encontrar-se e tocar quase ininterruptamente durante três dias, provando um ao outro que as suas intuições e corações estavam síncronos – convergindo a densidade das linguagens tímbricas e poéticas dos seus instrumentos num ponto de todos os retornos, expandido pela observação da geologia de Macedo de Cavaleiros e Podence. Daqui resultou o LP La Langue de l’Ophiolite. Daqui, com os drones que resultam de um afincado estudo da duração, duma termodinâmica harmónica – pois quando tocam é como que um maelstrom microtonal -, e dos erros deliciosos que advêm de infatigável repetição e persistência, propõem um gesto imanente para onde alguém pode olhar e ouvir como se se tornasse o topo de um monte, com uma visão e audição de 360º, onde os pontos cegos da nervura óptica e sónica são o vector serpenteante de verdade extática que os músicos visam estabelecer com quem escuta. Depois do hiato pandémico – que não os impediu de lançar Metal Hurlant em exclusivo digital – realizaram este ano uma tour pela Bélgica, França, e Suíça, a partir da qual resulou CEPENDANT – uma nova edição em k7 auto-editada pelo duo em Outubro, e lançada numa digressão por Portugal. A mesma música nunca é a mesma. In January 2020, Trás-os-Montes Records arranged for the two musicians to finally meet and play almost uninterruptedly for three days, proving to each other that their intuitions and hearts were synchronous – converging the density of timbral languages and poetics of their instruments at a point of all returns, expanded by the observation of the geology of Macedo de Cavaleiros and Podence. This resulted in the LP La Langue de l’Ophiolite. Hence, with the drones that result from a thorough study of duration, harmonic thermodynamics – because when they play it is like a microtonal maelstrom –, and the delicious errors that come from tireless repetition and persistence, they propose an immanent gesture where someone can look and listen as if it were the top of a mountain, with a 360º vision and hearing, where the blind spots of the optical and sonic rib are the serpentine vector of ecstatic truth that the musicians aim to establish with those who listen.
