No próximo dia 25 de Agosto às 19h inauguramos a exposição SNAILS DON’T LIVE FOREVER de Oleg Kharch, comissariada por Radu Stīclå.
Neste delicado jogo entre imaginação e realidade, exploramos a ligação entre a natureza e a nossa responsabilidade colectiva por um futuro sustentável. A génese desta exposição pop-up surgiu da descoberta de duas obras de arte de arquivo que levaram à contemplação do comum, desses seres frequentemente negligenciados que partilham o nosso mundo.
Os caracóis, com a sua travessia sem pressa e as suas conchas elegantes, tornaram-se musas inesperadas, representando uma narrativa de resiliência e introspeção numa era de mudanças rápidas. Tentemos estabelecer paralelos entre o ritmo deliberado dos caracóis e a arte de viver com mais atenção. O seu empenho inabalável na sua viagem encoraja-nos a reavaliar as nossas escolhas, a procurar o equilíbrio no meio do clamor do progresso e a abraçar um futuro em que as nossas acções honrem o ambiente que nos sustenta.
Os caracóis não vivem para sempre, mas ensinam-nos a gentileza, a harmonia e a proteção do mundo.

Oleg Kharch /Kharchenko (nascido em 1963 em Sumy) é um artista ucraniano dos movimentos figurativo, novo naïf ucraniano (Quasi-naïf) e pós-concetual. As suas obras vão desde projectos de street art, esculturas sonoras e vídeo-colagem até à pintura tradicional. O artista expôs várias exposições individuais e colectivas nos últimos 10 anos, incluindo na Bienal de Arte de Cerveira (Portugal) e no Torrance Art Museum (EUA), entre outras. Desde 2021, Kharch declara-se exclusivamente como um artista do movimento New Brut Art.

In this delicate interplay between imagination and reality, we explore the profound connection between nature and our collective responsibility for a sustainable future. The genesis of this pop-up exhibition emerged from the discovery of two archive artworks which led to the contemplation of the ordinary, those often overlooked beings that share our world.
Snails, with their unhurried traverse and elegant shells, became unexpected muses, representing a narrative of resilience and introspection in an age of rapid change. Let’s try to draw parallels between the deliberate pace of snails and the art of a more mindful living. Their unwavering commitment to their journey encourages us to reevaluate our choices, to seek balance amidst the clamor of progress, and to embrace a future where our actions honor the environment that sustains us.
Snails don’t live forever, yet they teach us gentleness, harmony and guardianship.

Oleg Kharch /Kharchenko (born 1963 in Sumy) is a Ukrainian artist in the figurative, new Ukrainian naive (Quasi- naive), post-conceptual movements. His works range from street art projects, sound sculptures and video collage to traditional painting. The artist has exhibited several solo and group shows over the last 10 years, including Bienal de Arte de Cerveira (Portugal) and Torrance Art Museum (USA), among others. Since 2021, Kharch declares himself exclusively as an artist of New Brut Art.
