6 dez 2015 18h00 - LEITURA 21h30 - CONVERSA com Isabel Carvalho, António Preto e Luisa Mota _________ seguir as luzes verdes / following the green lights de Isabel Carvalho, é o resultado de um ano de trabalho que a artista desenvolveu a convite do ARTES, programa de arte contemporânea da Fundação Manuel António da Mota, sobre Aurélia de Sousa - “uma homenagem, de uma artista a outra, sem qualquer propósito de forçar proximidades/afinidades, mas sim de assumir um espaço de encontro – a obra.” Tendo como base a palestra Sonhos de Henri Bergson (1901), Isabel Carvalho apresenta no espaço ARTES uma nova criação, que parte de uma constelação de elementos que se interelacionam poeticamente: as cores, os espaços e o tempo representados nas pinturas No estúdio e Santo António de Aurélia de Sousa, e as luzes do espaço aberto da cidade na nossa contemporaneidade. Chamando a si a responsabilidade de abordar a obra de Aurélia de Sousa com o propósito de a libertar e de desejavelmente a abrir ao presente, Isabel Carvalho propõe um corte, que toma como modelo o efeito disruptivo proporcionado pelo sonho e pelo acto de sonhar. Um corte que não representa uma completa ruptura, mas que deve antes ser visto como uma potência criativa. Horário: 4ª a sábado 18h00 - 22h00 ____ "seguir as luzes verdes / following the green lights", by Isabel Carvalho, is the result of a year of work by the artist on Aurélia de Souza, at the invitation of ARTES, the contemporary art program of the Foundation Manuel António da Mota – “a tribute to an artist by another artist, without looking for affinities but instead searching for common ground – artistic work”. Based on the lecture “Dreams”, by Henri Bergson (1901), Isabel Carvalho presents new artistic work at the ARTES space, made out of a constellation of elements that are poetically interconnected: colours, space and time represented in the paintings "At the Studio" and "Saint Anthony", by Aurélia de Souza, and the outdoor lights of the city in our contemporary world. Taking upon herself the responsibility of addressing Aurélia de Souza’s work in order to set it free and open it to the present, Isabel Carvalho’s suggests a break (an interruption), modelled after the disruptive effect caused by dreams and the act of dreaming. This break doesn’t represent a complete rupture; rather, it should be seen as a creative power.
