A Circus Network apresenta “Time Well Spent”, a estreia em Portugal do artista Tim Gresham (UK), também conhecido como Mr Penfold. Para esta mostra, Penfold continua no tema “Simple Pleasures” que começou a explorar na exposição anterior. Este novo corpo de trabalho despe as suas pinturas e leva-o de volta ao básico, concentrando-se nas suas composições e paletas de cores únicas. Os anos 80 e o estilo de Memphis são as maiores influências em “Time Well Spent”, tornando esta exposição numa explosão de pinturas e esculturas contendo a mais pura essência de Penfold. Circus Network presents “Time Well Spent”, the first exhibition in Portugal from UK artist Tim Gresham, also known as Mr Penfold. For this show, Penfold continues on the theme of “Simple Pleasures” that he started exploring on his previous exhibition. This new body of work strips his paintings back to basics, focusing on his unique colour palettes and compositions. The major influences for “Time Well Spent” were the 80’s and the Memphis style, making this exhibition an explosion of paintings and sculpture containing Penfold’s purest essence. Trabalha de várias formas e em diversas áreas, incluindo pintura, design gráfico, serigrafia, instalações e murais de grande escala, mostrando o seu trabalho por todo o mundo. Os trabalhos de Penfold têm um estilo facilmente reconhecível, com formas definidas de cores contrastantes, influenciado pela cultura do skateboarding e a abstração formal. O seu mix de estilos e elementos abrem um enorme leque de possíveis resultados, conduzindo a um desfecho diferente cada vez que põe as mãos em algo, mas sempre com a mesma imagem distinta e inconfundível. Isto permitiu a Penfold expôr em diversas galerias e instituições a nível global, e conseguiu trabalhar com algumas das mais icónicas marcas do mundo como a Adidas, Nike, Disney, Smirnoff, Microsoft e Diesel. Mr Penfold is Tim Greshman, an artist and designer from Cambridge, currently living in Bristol. He works in many fields and mediums, including painting, graphic design, screen printing, installations and large-scale murals, showing his work all over the world. Penfold’s works have an easily recognizable style, with strong defined shapes and contrasting colours, influenced by the culture of skateboarding and formal abstraction. His mix of styles and elements opens a huge range of possible outcomes, leading to a different result every time the artist puts his hands on something, but always with the same distinctive and unmistakable imagery. This allowed Penfold to exhibit in several galleries and institutions globally, and to work with some of the world’s most iconic brands like Adidas, Nike, Disney, Smirnoff, Microsoft and Diesel.
