João Canedo is a solo guitarist and composer born in the north of Portugal in a small town between the mountains of the interior and the breeze of the atlantic ocean.
In the instrumental music he creates, the starting point for the compositions is the self-taught emotional language and in the acoustic guitars fingerstyle, influenced by the imagery of traditional Portuguese music and artists such as John Fahey and Norberto Lobo.
At the age of 33 he is on his way to the fifth original album which will come out in 2018. In the past albums, searched for different techniques. The first one, "Horas"(Hours, 2011), is approached from a musical/classical perspective. Already "O Trabalho da Formiga"(The Ant Work, 2012), explores an experimental harmonic folk. "Tentar Custa"(Hard Try, 2012) contains rhythmic fingerstyle of impact where bass lines have a preponderant role. In "Gosto Do Teu Ar"(I Like Your Air, 2016), the homonymous poem reflects the theme “passage of time”.

Já “O Trabalho Da Formiga” (2012) explora um folk harmónico experimental. “Tentar Custa” (2012) contém dedilhados ritmados de impacto onde os baixos assumem um papel preponderante. Em “Gosto Do Teu Ar” (2016), o poema homónimo reflecte sobre a temática da “passagem do tempo”.
