FIRE THAT FACE
A ceramic therapeutic workshop
The memory of someone’s face is the focus of the uncontrollable everlasting regret, of bitter anger and resentment which sticks in mind and emerges despite any willing.
Through clay you are going to express your feelings and memories in shape of a face, which can be resembling someone of your past (or not).
After firing in a ceramic kiln at 1100°C the burden of a memory will become a solid object of your property.
Holding in the hands the artifact of a memory is a freeing experience. Conquering the past and deciding what to do with it it's what comes next.
Saturday 31rd of March, 9am-1pm
-Introducing modeling techniques, materials and possibilities on how to make a face
-Discovering face’s volumes
-Linking volumes and memories / linking memories and emotions
(dying and firing)
Sunday 1st April, 1-6pm
-After firing collection
-Final interventions
-Find your own solution for an uncomfortable past

About the organizer:
Chira is an artist living and working in Lisbon. She is a painter and ceramist exhibiting in an increasing number of galleries around Europe. In her career she has been assisting people with learning difficulties using art as a therapy. This experience gave her the idea of a self artistic therapy. She spontaneously dismissed her uncomfortable past using art practice. Chira is now proposing her funny methods to you.
