Três Estações Nocturnas, a quarta exposição individual de PAULO BRIGHENTI na Galeria BAGINSKI, parte da construção do poemário “Noite de Pedra” pelo escritor e artista plástico português Luís Veiga Leitão (1915-1987). Preso político do Estado-Novo em 1952, Veiga Leitão redigiu mentalmente o conjunto de poemas que compõem o livro e que expressam sentimentos de solidão, denuncia e resistência, guardando-o no pensamento até à sua publicação, após ter sido libertado. É esta sensibilidade proveniente de uma luz ideológica, emergente das crenças pessoais de um individuo e mantida sem esmorecer sob as piores circunstâncias, que Brighenti procura resgatar nesta exposição, recorrendo a uma expressão derivada do peso dos materiais e a elementos de formalismo pictórico que impõem contrastes violentos entre fundo e imagem, objeto e matéria, cromatismo e forma. Composta a três tempos – núcleos de pintura, escultura e desenho –, a exposição circunda entre o peso da noite e o delírio do sonho. // Three Stages of the Night, the fourth solo show by Paulo Brighenti at Galeria Baginski, stems from the anthology of poems “Noite de Pedra” by the Portuguese author and plastic artist Luis Veiga Leitão (1915-1987). Political prisoner of “Estado-Novo” in 1952, Veiga Leitão mentally composed the collection of poems that constitute the book and express feelings of loneliness, denouncement and resistance, keeping it in his memory until its publication, after being released from prison. It is this sensibility derived from an ideological light, emergent from the personal beliefs of an individual and kept without fading under the worst circumstances, that Brighenti tries to rescue in this exhibition, appealing to an expression of the weight of the materials and to elements of pictorial formalism which demand violent contrasts between background and image, object and matter, chromatics and form. Composed by three moments – modules of painting, sculpture and drawing - the exhibition revolves around the weight of the night and the delirium of the dream.
