[PT] Mestre músico do Afeganistão, conhecido pela sua perícia na música de Badakhshan. Especializado em instrumentos tradicionais como o rubab, qashqarcha e ghichak, também canta  EM  em “falak”, um género único de Badakhshi. Nascido numa família do cantor religioso Shighnani, Murad herdou uma rica herança musical que influenciou profundamente o seu percurso profissional. Prosseguiu a sua paixão pela música a nível académico, obtendo a licenciatura e o mestrado em música na Universidade de Cabul. O seu percurso profissional teve início no Instituto Nacional de Música do Afeganistão (ANIM), onde começou como professor de música e ascendeu ao cargo de Diretor de Música e Assuntos Académicos. Murad é também o fundador da Escola de Música de Shighnan, uma instituição apoiada académica e musicalmente pelo ANIM. Esta escola funcionou como um ramo da famosa ANIM, alargando a sua missão de preservar e promover as ricas tradições musicais do Afeganistão. Como membro integrante da comunidade académica da ANIM, Murad viajou extensivamente, apresentando a música afegã em várias capacidades como cantor, instrumentista e orientador. Tem atuado em prestigiadas salas de concertos por todo o mundo, incluindo Estados Unidos, Reino Unido, Suíça, Alemanha, Índia, China, Tajiquistão, Uzbequistão, Turquemenistão, Cazaquistão, Bélgica, França, Finlândia, Austrália, Dinamarca, Suécia et al. Em 2021, após o regresso dos Talibãs ao poder no Afeganistão, Murad foi evacuado com o resto da comunidade ANIM para Portugal. Atualmente, continua o seu trabalho com a ANIM em Portugal como professor de música dedicado, assegurando a preservação e promoção das tradições musicais afegãs. O percurso de Murad reflete o seu profundo empenho na sua herança cultural e a sua inabalável dedicação à formação da próxima geração de músicos afegãos.

Mohammad Murad Sarkhosh 
Master musician from Afghanistan, renowned for his expertise in the music of Badakhshan. Specializing in traditional instruments such as the rubab, qashqarcha, and ghichak, he also sings beautifully in the unique Badakhshi genre called falak. Born into a family of a Shighnani religious singer, Murad inherited a rich musical heritage that has deeply influenced his artistry. Murad pursued his passion for music academically, earning both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music from Kabul University. His professional journey began at the Afghanistan National Institute of Music (ANIM), where he started as a music teacher and rose to the position of Dean for Music and Academic Affairs. Murad is the founder and initiator of the Shighnan Music School, an institution supported academically and musically by ANIM. This school served as a branch of the renowned ANIM, extending its mission to preserve and promote the rich musical traditions of Afghanistan. As an integral member of the ANIM academic community, Murad has traveled extensively, presenting Afghan music in various capacities as a singer, instrumentalist, and ensemble leader. His performances have graced prestigious concert venues worldwide, including in the United States, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Germany, India, China, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Belgium, France, Finland, Australia, Denmark, Sweden, and beyond. In 2021, following the return of the Taliban to power in Afghanistan, Murad was evacuated with the rest of the ANIM community to Portugal. He currently continues his work with ANIM in Portugal as a dedicated music teacher, ensuring the preservation and promotion of Afghan musical traditions. Murad's journey reflects his deep commitment to his cultural heritage and his unwavering dedication to nurturing the next generation of Afghan musicians. His contributions to the field of music have made him a vital figure in the global presentation of Afghan music.
