𝗔𝗗𝗨𝗙𝗘𝗜𝗥@ é um projeto que explora o cruzamento da música de tradição oral de Monsanto, aldeia histórica de Idanha-a-Nova, Portugal (Beira-Baixa) e a contemporaneidade da música eletrónica, explorando o repertório de tradição oral do Cancioneiro de Monsanto e da Beira-Baixa, e estreando novas obras de José Alberto Gomes.
A residência artística colocará em cena os músicos do Ensemble Med (Daniela Tomaz: flautas históricas, adufe, direção artística; Mariana Fabião: canto e adufe; Sérgio Calisto: viola d'amore a chiavi e moraharpa) juntamente com José Alberto Gomes (eletrónica em tempo real / composição) e D. Amélia Fonseca ("adufe"& canto) do emblemático grupo "Adufeiras de Monsanto", detentora de uma interpretação única do toque do ADUFE.
A tradição dos Adufes é um dos símbolos maiores da tradição e riqueza musical do concelho de Idanha-a-Nova (Portugal), entidade parceira do Ensemble, e foi um dos estandartes da candidatura a Cidade Criativa da Música da UNESCO, distinção conferida em 2015 e revalidada em 2020, sendo a inspiração para o festival ENCONTROS MED [mediterraneo/medieval].

The artistic residency will put in place Ensemble Med musicians (Daniela Tomaz: historical flutes, adufe, artistic direction; Mariana Fabião: singing; Sérgio Calisto: viola d’amore a chiavi and moraharpa) together with José Alberto Gomes (real time electronics / composition) and D. Amélia Fonseca (“adufe” & singing), who is one of the mythic “Adufeiras de Monsanto”, holding a unique interpretation of playing the Portuguese traditional framedrum “ADUFE”, from which the leading festival ENCONTROS MED draws its inspiration and which is also the symbol of the Municipality of Idanha-a-Nova. They will explore repertoire of the Songbook of Monsanto village, and premiering new works by José Alberto Gomes, inspired by this living tradition.
ADUFEIR@_Ensemble Med & José Alberto Gomes will aim at, on one hand, to continue exploring early /world music repertoire with electronic music composer / musician José Alberto Gomes, and on a second hand, to strengthen the bond with the local artistic community of Monsanto, Idanha-a-Nova, Portugal .
The project will then involve D. Amélia Gonçalves, one of the mythic “Adufeiras de Monsanto”, exploring pieces of the oral tradition of the Monsanto village, and premiering new works by José Alberto Gomes, directing the repertoire of the Ensemble towards traditional oral music, which would represent a new important need/challenge of the Ensemble’s path.
The 𝗔𝗗𝗨𝗙𝗘𝗜𝗥@_𝗘𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗱, 𝗔𝗺𝗲́𝗹𝗶𝗮 𝗙𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗮 & 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗲́ 𝗔𝗹𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗼 𝗚𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 residency explores the oral tradition of Monsanto village, through the live memory of Adufeira D. Amélia Fonseca, with the contemporary creation of José Alberto Gomes (live electronics) and results from a partnership between Encontros Med (PT), Tamburi Mundi (DE), and Valmiermuiža Ethnomusic Festival (LV), supported by the European Festivals Fund for Emerging Artists – EFFEA, an initiative of the European Festivals Association (EFA), co-funded by the European Union.
