This week we present Tiago Evangelista the first artist invited to take control of our rotating panel, where the selected names by our art curator, Sebastião Faro, will be revealed.
Tiago Evangelista was born in Viseu in 1987. After finishing his plastic arts course at ESAD Caldas da Rainha, in 2011, he moved to Lisbon, the city where he lives and currently works.
Painting has always been the main focus of his work. Suburban space, abandoned buildings and industrial objects are a constant, both in abstract and figurative paintings that normally evoke objects and brands (logos) from the world and contemporary pop culture and “late capitalism”, under an often acidic filter. Tiago Evangelista is one of the founders of the collective Germes Gang.

“For a multifaceted space, I would never find a better support than a rotating panel to exhibit artistic works. The balance between plurality and rotation and aesthetic and conceptual cohesion is in the DNA of the entire space. This is how this display was born and the challenge for artists to create 3 original pieces specifically for 46. Tiago is the first of many that I will have the pleasure of inviting to test out if you venture into the fine line between elegance and high disruption.”
46: Venue (Praça das Flores nº46)
Cities are made up of people, places, atmospheres and ideas. Of clubs...Here at 46 we are all come together: thinkers, creators, eaters and drinkers, people who look, listen, dress and wander around. Here we breathe well and think even better. Here we are all dreamers.
