Grinding Mind is an association that promotes a healthy living of the videogames activity. Maria João Andrade – as its CEO – is a clinical psychologist with experience in videogame activity impact. She's currently doing her PhD in "Flow experience in videogame activity: From an healthy and pathological perspective" at Ispa Instituto Universitário. Despite that, she's also a writer at the Rubber Chicken online magazine and a psychologist at Clínica Sabeanas. Previously she did create and coordinate the player support department at the Grow uP Gaming association, she collaborated with NPCL and she also provided performance psychological support to a For the Win team.
The talk "What to keep in Mind: The Psychology of Games" is the 16th in the cycle "The Art and Craft of Game Programming", part of the 2016-2018 Creative Talks of Universidade Europeia and IADE - Creative University.
