Numa primeira abordagem expositiva do colectivo Os Renascentistas, Catarina Ferreira e Paulo Maias esperam cativar de novo o olhar do público e de outros artistas para reflectir o estado presente da Arte e o seu significado.
Num mundo contemporâneo como o de hoje, a Arte perdeu as suas características, definição e o que a distingue de tudo o resto que existe na sociedade e vivência humana. É verdade que a beleza está nos olhos de cada um e que a Arte não tem que ser restrita nem tem que ter regra, mas os membros do colectivo acreditam que a liberdade em rotular qualquer objecto como artístico faz a Arte perder o seu valor e significado, tornando-se algo comum que qualquer humano pode criar.
Não com o objectivo de ser elitista, a Arte, tal como qualquer ramo na ciência ou qualquer outra matéria, requer uma veia especial que nem todos as pessoas têm e, embora deva ser apreciada por todos, não deverá ser marginalizada ao ponto de perder as suas qualidades únicas que tão bem a definem desde que a humanidade se apercebeu da sua existência.

Painting Collective Exhibition
Artists: Catarina Ferreira e Paulo Maias

In a first exhibit aproach from the collective Os Renascentistas (The Renaissancists), Catarina Ferreira and Paulo Maias hope to captivate again the eye of the public and other artists to reflect the current state of Art and its meaning
In a contemporary world like the one today, Art lost its characteristics, definition and what distinguishes it from all the rest there is in society and human experience. It is true that beauty is in the eye of every individual and that Art doesn't need to be restrict or have any rule, but the members of the collective believe that the freedom in label any object as artistic makes Art loose all its value and meaning, becoming into something common that any human being can create.
Not for the purpose of being elitist, Art, just like any branch in science or any other subject, requires a special vein that not all people have and, although it should be aprecciated by all, it should not be marginalized to the point of losing its unique qualities that so well define it since humanity realized of its existence.
