Michiel Plomp – The Teylers Museum, Haarlem. The Collecting History of the Oldest Museum in the Netherlands Michiel Christiaan Plomp (1958) Studied Art History in Utrecht and Groningen. His Ph.D. topic was 'the collecting of Drawings in 18th-century Holland'. Worked in several Dutch museums like Rotterdam Museum, Rembrandt-huis in Amsterdam and Museum het Prinsenhof in Delft. From 1999 to 2006 Curator of Northern European Drawings at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. Since then Keeper of the Art Collections in the Teylers Museum in Haarlem. Participated in the following exhibitions Johannes Vermeer and the Delft School, Peter Paul Rubens. The Drawings, Claude Lorrain and Raphael and his School. The first two in New York, the latter two in Haarlem. At the moment he is preparing an exhibition on Leonardo da Vinci drawings: Leonardo. Emotion and Expression.
