De 20 a 30 de Maio a cidade de Braga vai ser colorida pelas cores de Cabo Verde. As atividades têm como objetivo a criação duma ligação entre a cultura portuguesa e caboverdiana, possibilitando a comunidade conhecer, sentir e refletir sobre a identidade da sua Cidade e partilhar a sua identidade com o Outro, acolhendo a diferença. 

Em particular, as fotografias de Tó Gomes (fotografo português residente na Cidade Velha) e Hélder Paz Monteiro (fotografo caboverdiano) vão ser projetadas em bares e restaurantes como o Mavy, o Mostarda&Chocolade e o Vianna, mostram-nos as linhas e as paisagens da Cidade Velha; os workshops de brinquedos querem deixar nas crianças a curiosidade para uma cultura diferente e uma remanescência à ancestralidade perdida. Também a música chega a Braga: as Batucadeiras vão tocar os seus batukus em lugares emblemáticos da cidade, trazendo com elas os ritmos e os sons da ilha. O Batuku é a forma musical mais antiga de Cabo Verde, uma tradição ancestral que faz parte da identidade deste povo e que os bracarenses descobrirão ouvindo as sonoridades e olhando para aquelas danças feitas de corpos que transparecem a herança do passado.

Braga vai mostrar ainda mais um pouco da sua cultura com vídeos da Escola Profissional de Braga, que leva por uma viagem ao Barroco e a uma projeção do futuro da cidade.

From the 20th to the 30th of May, Braga is going to be painted with Cape Verde's colors. The goal of the activities proposed is to create a connection between the portuguese and the cape verdean cultures, giving the possibility to the community to know, feel and reflect first on its own identity and then share it with the Other, accepting the differencies.

In particular, the pictures from Tó Gomes (portuguese photographer who lives in Cidade Velha) and Hélder Paz Monteiro (capeverdean photographer) are going to be showed in bars and restaurants like Mavy, Mostarda&Chocolade and Café Vianna. The exhibitions will show us the lines and the landscapes of Cidade Velha; toy's workhops have the purpose of stimulating kids' curiosity towards a different culture and lost acestries.
Besides, african music will arrive in Braga: the Batucadeiras will play their "batukus" in the most emblematic places of the city, bringing with them the sounds and the rhythm of the island.
Batuku is the most ancient kind of music in Cape Verde, an ancestral tradition that is part of the identity of this people. Braga's citizens are going to discover it listening to its melody and looking at those dances made of bodies that express the heritage of the past.

Braga, on its side, is going to show a bit of its culture with videos from Escola Profissional de Braga, videos that will lead us first through the beautiful Baroque style of the city and then through a inquiry about the future of the city.
