O CURSO
Uma introdução para iniciantes à forma de Dança Clássica Indiana Bharatanatyam com Seeta Patel. Seeta irá falar acerca da História desta forma de arte e do trabalho que desenvolve actualmente, ensinar trabalho de pés básico e gestos de mãos, trabalho com ritmo e poemas em sânscrito. O curso é para iniciantes com pouca ou nenhuma experiência e irá abordar todos os aspectos desta forma de arte. Para bailarinos experientes, é uma excelente forma de rever conceitos e conhecer esta bailarina de qualidade internacional.
Para mulheres e homens, raparigas e rapazes, a partir dos 12 anos.

BIOGRAFIA RESUMIDA DE SEETA PATEL 
Nascida em Londres, Seeta Patel começou a praticar sob a orientação de Kiran Ratna em 1990 tendo trabalhado desde então com uma série de profissionais de Bharatanatyam e dança contemporânea incluindo Mavin Khoo, Padma Shri Adyar K Lakshman, Pushkala Gopal, Darshan Singh Bhuller e outros.
Patel fez tournée com a companhia DV8 Physical Theatre, Shobana Jeyasingh Dance Company, David Hughes Dance Company and Mavin Khoo Dance entre outras.
Apresentou em Londres a sua estreia clássica a solo, Shringara: Journey of Desire a uma sala lotada no The Clore Upstairs, Royal Opera House (Junho 2009), e fez tournée pelo Reino Unido em 2010/11. Apresentou depois os trabalhos clássicos a solo 'Dancing My Shiva', e mais recentemente, 'Something Then, Something Now' com lotação esgotada no Sadler’s Wells e noPurcell Room.
Produziu uma curta metragem de dança premiada, 'The Art of Defining Me' em 2013, aclamada a nível nacional e internacional. 
Seeta foi jurada, mentora e orientadora na primeira edição de sempre da BBC Young Dancer Competition e está actualmente a coreografar uma peça em cena no Theatre Royal Stratford East.

A beginners introduction in the the Indian Classical Dance form of Bharatanatyam with Seeta Patel.  Seeta will talk about the history of the art form and her current work, teach basic footwork and hand gestures, work with rhythm and sanskrit poems.  The workshop is aimed at beginners with little or no experience and will touch upon all aspects of the art form.
Men and women, boys and girls, ages from 12 years up.

SEETA PATEL SHORT BIO
Born in London, Seeta Patel began training under the guidance of Kiran Ratna in 1990 and has since worked with a range of Bharatanatyam and contemporary dance professionals including Mavin Khoo, Padma Shri Adyar K Lakshman, Pushkala Gopal, Darshan Singh Bhuller and more.
Patel has toured with DV8 Physical Theatre, Shobana Jeyasingh Dance Company, David Hughes Dance Company and Mavin Khoo Dance amongst others.
She presented her solo classical London debut, Shringara: Journey of Desire to a sold out audience at The Clore Upstairs, Royal Opera House (June 2009), and went on to tour the UK in 2010/11. She has subsequently presented solo classical works Dancing My Siva, and more recently, Something Then, Something Now to sold out audiences at Sadler’s Wells and the Purcell Room.
She produced an award-winning short dance film, The Art of Defining Me in 2013, which gained national and international acclaim. 
Seeta was a judge, mentor and advisor for the first ever BBC Young Dancer Competition and is currently choreographing a new play at Theatre Royal Stratford East.
