extra, extra, EXTRA WOOL!
Entre o dia 19 (próxima 2ºfeira) e 25 de Outubro, o centro da Covilhã volta a acolher o WOOL – Festival de Arte Urbana da Covilhã, numa edição EXTRA, que sendo de menor dimensão, terá como protagonistas 2 (dois) dos artistas urbanos portugueses mais reconhecidos e activos internacionalmente, PANTÓNIO e SAMINA.
Após o sucesso e enorme destaque nacional e internacional da edição 2014 do WOOL (ON RESIDENCE), tendo inclusivamente, uma das peças produzidas (‘Owl Eyes’ por Bordalo II) sido reconhecida como uma das melhores e mais populares peças de Arte Urbana de 2014, a organização continua a não conseguir obter os fundos necessários para a realização contínua do festival na dimensão e formato desenhado.
No entanto, a paixão e vontade que tem caracterizado esta organização leva-os a não desistir, mas sim em persistir, fazendo aquilo a que se propuseram em 2011, com a fundação do WOOL na Covilhã, a construção de um roteiro de arte urbana na cidade, capaz de despertar o interesse da comunidade pela Cultura e a Arte Contemporânea, neste caso, a Arte Urbana.
Desta forma, PANTÓNIO e SAMINA estarão a realizar peças MURAIS pelo centro histórico da cidade da Covilhã e peças de menor escala que integrarão uma pequena EXPOSIÇÃO.
No leque de actividades abertas a toda a população e interessados, poderemos ainda encontrar PALESTRAS e as VISITAS GUIADAS.
O EXTRA WOOL é financiado Câmara Municipal da Covilhã e com o patrocínio e/ou apoio de empresas/entidades locais e nacionais.
UK | Between the 19th (next Monday) and the 25th of October, the center of Covilhã will welcome back the WOOL - Covilhã Urban Art Festival, with an EXTRA edition, smaller, but featuring 2 portuguese urban artists of the most recognized and active abroad, PANTÓNIO and SAMINA.
After the success and huge national and international prominence of the edition 2014 of WOOL (ON RESIDENCE), and having one of the mural produced ('Owl Eyes' by Bordalo II) recognized as one of the best and most popular pieces of Art Urban in 2014 , the organization still can not get the funds necessary for the continued holding of the festival in size and designed format.
However, the passion and desire that has characterized this organization leads them to not give up, but to persist, doing what they have proposed in 2011, with the founding of WOOL in Covilhã, the construction of an urban art circuit, able to arouse the community's interest in culture and contemporary art, in this case, the Urban Art.
Thus, PANTÓNIO and SAMINA will be painting MURALS in the historic center of the city of Covilhã and smaller-scale pieces that will make up a small EXHIBITION.
In the range of activities open to the entire population and stakeholders, we can still find LECTURES and TOURS.
EXTRA WOOL is funded by the Municipality of Covilhã and sponsored and / or support by local and national entities / companies.
