REFLECTIONS | Exposição-Instalação

 
Temos o prazer de convidar para a inauguração de REFLECTIONS, uma exposição/instalação criada pelos artistas envolvidos no projecto PANG! Projeto Performing Arts for the Next Generation da Glocalmusic, liderado pela Drama Artists e cofinanciado pela Creative Europe. Com trabalhos de: Isadora Angelini, Angela Antonini, Urša Strehar Benčina, Rene Koster, Clara Marchana, Luis Fernandes, Ana Romih and Luca Serrani. 
O convite é proporcionar a todos uma experiência que reflita as ressonâncias do toque, os ecos das reverberações das emoções no corpo, nas mãos, nos pés, nos lugares onde tudo se funde dentro de qualquer conexão que estabelecemos com o outro e os possíveis obstáculos que daí decorrem. Um corpo que absorve, filtra e reflete consciente e inconscientemente as experiências que por ele passam. 
A exposição é acompanhada por eventos ao vio:  Beatriz Portugal & José Infanteno dia da inauguração e do encerramento (20 e 29 de Junho) e KATEPA (Messias Santiago, Ary e Nuno Reis) no dia 28 de Junho. [>>>Mais informações abaixo]

Beatriz Portugal (voz de jazz, radicada em Lisboa) e José Infante (eletrónica, radicado em Berlim) colaboram desde 2008 em atuações e gravações ao vivo. Recentemente gravaram um EP de música eletrónica em Berlim, que será lançado em breve pela Intersonica. 
Beatriz Portugal é cantora, performer site-specific e investigadora. É apaixonada pelas artes, pelo ensino, por diferentes culturas e pessoas, fazendo as coisas acontecerem com respeito ao próximo e à diferença. 
José Infante, conhecido por projetos musicais como Kids On Acid ou The Positronics, explora o minimalismo, o dub, o techno e territórios mais psicadélicos.

Set Kissange e electrónica, electroacústica e edm baseada em loops de músicas do mundo afro da região angolana, KATEPA é um projecto de 'soba' Messias Santiago desenvolvido com a Intersonica. 
KATEPA é um espetáculo extremamente poético, onde a improvisação surge algures entre o minimalismo e o transe, que nos traz o cheiro da terra quente e as cores ardentes do barro. 
Messias Santiago notabilizou-se na cena reggae portuguesa com Kussondulola, a partir da década de 1990 e mais tarde com a banda afro-reggae Mercado Negro. 
O Kissange (kisanji, quissange) é um instrumento tradicional angolano, um idiofone da família dos lamelofones, uma espécie de “piano de polegar” que tem parentes em muitas regiões de África, onde recebe múltiplos nomes, como mbira, sanza, kalimba e muitos outros. Este tipo de instrumento também viajou para o novo mundo, nomeadamente para as Caraíbas, onde podem ser encontradas versões para baixo do instrumento. 
Com raízes na world music, com sonoridades ancestrais temperadas por melodias jazzísticas e electrónica altíssima, KATEPA convida-nos a embarcar numa viagem por locais paradisíacos onde o passado e o futuro se entrelaçam. Eles nos arrancam da terra e nos jogam na galáxia... KATEPA significa meu bairro no dialeto angolano de Malanje. Lá você podia ver jogadores de Kissange vindos de cidades mais para o interior. Numa grande homenagem, numa ligação emocional, KATEPA vem unir o passado ao futuro e viajar pelas galáxias com os seus antepassados.

We are glad to invite you for the opening of REFLECTIONS, the exhibition/ Installation created by the artists participating in the project PANG! The invitation is to provide everyone with an experience that reflects the resonances of touch, the echoes of the reverberations of emotions in the body, in the hands, in the feet, in the places where everything merges within any connection we establish with the other and the possible obstacles that arise from this. A body that consciously and unconsciously absorbs, filters and reflects the experiences that pass through it.

Beatriz Portugal (jazz voice, Lisbon based) and José Infante (electronics, Berlin based) have collaborated since 2008 in live acts and live recordings. They recently recorded an EP of electronic music in Berlin, to be released soon by Intersonica. 
Beatriz Portugal is a singer, site-specific performer and researcher. She is in love with the arts, teaching, different cultures and people, making things happen with respect for others and difference. 
José Infante, known for music projects such as Kids On Acid or The Positronics, explores minimalism, dub, techno and more psychedelic territories.

Kissange set and electronics, electroacoustics and loop-based edm mix world music afro roots from angolan region, KATEPA is a project by 'soba' Messias Santiago developed with Intersonica. 
KATEPA is an extremely poetic show, where improvisation appears somewhere between minimalism and trance, which brings us the smell of hot earth and the fiery colors of clay. 
Messias Santiago became notable in the portuguese reggae scene with Kussondulola, from the 1990s and later with the afro-reggae band Mercado Negro. 
The Kissange (kisanji, quissange) is a traditional Angolan instrument, an idiophone of the lamellophone family, a type of “thumb piano” that has relatives in many regions of Africa, where it receives multiple names, such as mbira, sanza, kalimba and many others. This type of instrument also traveled to the new world, namely to the Caribbean, where bass versions of the instrument can be found. 
With roots in world music, with ancestral sounds tempered by jazzy melodies and soaring electronics, KATEPA invites us to embark on a journey through paradisiacal places where the past and the future intertwine. They grab us from the earth and throw us into the galaxy... KATEPA means my neighborhood in Angolan Malanje dialect. There you could see kissange players coming from towns further inland. In a great tribute, in an emotional connection, KATEPA come to unite the past with the future and travel the galaxies with their ancestors.
