The Untouchables! For those who don’t know them, the duo, Nitrox and Kay, specialises in the dark and tribal dub side of drum and bass and has an impressive catalogue of releases on genre-defining labels such as Samurai Music, Rupture, Cylon, Renegade Hardware, 457, Translation, DNO, Alphacut and Mutable Beats. Their sound outlines a wide array of musical styles – from minimal, to dubby, to deep, percussive halfstep - all that bathed in distorted, fleshy bass. Kay's ability to blend heavy basslines and percussion is unparalleled. The oldskool influences of yesteryear are key to her approach to drum and bass. Nitrox is the co-founder of the original Universal Project. He has released tracks as U.P (and with Keaton) on established labels such as Renegade Hardware, Freak Recordings, Quarantine, Virus, True Playaz or Advance. Behind the decks, The Untouchables are a force to be reckoned with. They always deliver a heavyweight selection of sounds that come from the deeper side of the bass universe. In our words: Beware! To complement the lineup of the evening, Conveyor Audio invited an army of talented and renowned artists artists as well: Neurotoxin This Portuguese duo almost needs no introduction. With releases on Skalator Music, Conveyor Audio, Delta9 and Subplate, they’ve been an active force in the scene since 2009. Gifted with extremely accurate technique and a fine sense of musical aesthetic, not only on their productions, but also on their DJ sets, they’re somehow as chameleons: suiting the vibe that’s needed and making it hard to define their style. Switching between genres and subgenres with such class and refinement, their sets are always surprisingly good, energetic, and tend to be remembered! They've been on the supporting role for headliners such as Goldie, dBridge, Skeptical, Icicle, Kryptic Minds, Mefjus, Instra:Mental or Coco Bryce, to name a few, and are a constant presence on events from the best known promoters in Portugal. Mais Baixo Only if you’re incomprehensibly distracted from the portuguese bass scene, you haven't heard of them! Mais Baixo is a collective dedicated to promoting clubbing and soundsystem culture and the entire bass movement, from the classic dub of the 70s to the most futuristic electronic music. After several years of experience projecting the work of Portuguese DJs internationally on two London online radio stations (Rood.FM and SUB.fm), the collective's focus turned to the national audience with the creation of Pressão Sonora – program broadcast weekly on Rádio Oxigénio (102.6 FM). As a crew, they’re a mix of a promoter, a label, radio hosts, DJ’s, artists, they raised the soundsystem culture by making their own, and will be represented by 404 Not Found and LB. 4lquimista For as long as he can remember, he has translated what surrounds him through writing. This led him to find Hip Hop and become an MC. This movement brought him a taste for musical creation and the art of mixing which, combined with his fascination with rave culture, pushed him towards what we know today: an artist with a passion for the entire spectrum of music, with a desire to play or create any sound. It’s on this principle that he created Crave (@crave_the_rave), with the aim of bringing the maximum number of artistic outputs to the largest number of people, with the certainty that harmonious diversity is the way forward. Conveyor Showcase Last but not least, representing the Conveyor Audio house is Incendiario and Skalator, two of the heads behind the label and first time ever playing together on a B2B act: Not only Incendiario works on the label's visual direction, he’s been pushing Conveyor’s boundaries. With music released inhouse, and also on Skalator Music, Amen Lisboa, Eyesome and Yanked Beats, it’s with his most recent release [CNVRFREE002] that he defied the label’s path, blending soundscapes and atmospheres with spoken word, poetry and dark and downtempo vibes. Besides this reference, don't misjudge him, who knows his sets and podcasts, knows he works on his performances to be an unique experience and can turn the vibe from deep into a bad boy killer really really well! Besides his artistic name coming from a reference to his paintings and visual work, the man puts fire to the dancefloor! Skalator has been a DJ and producer for almost 20 years and is also another head behind Conveyor Audio and head honcho on Skalator Music, label that’s been around for 10 years and which catapulted him into the portuguese bass scene with his first releases! He has been on UK for a couple of years and then back to Portugal again, he’s been a constant presence on portuguese lineups mostly, associated with jungle & DNB but his references go way beyond that: a versatile DJ with passion for music and an avid vinyl collector, demonstrated also on his monthly radio show “Vault” on RewindFM. For many years he also kept Decadence show on Radio Quantica and Foundations show on SubtleRadio, and tonight he’s bringing his special touch on a somehow unexpected act with inhouse mate Incendiario.
