PT Desde as primeiras colagens sonoras de Croatian Amor, Loke Rahbek tem, a cada passo, gravitado em direcção à constante descoberta e experimentação. ‘Remember Rainbow Bridge‘, o seu novo álbum, é uma homenagem à juventude e à delicada metamorfose que ocorre na viagem da infância para a maturidade. Centradas neste terno fluxo, as canções do seu novo projeto são infundidas com a energia inquieta da adolescência e com uma sensação inevitável de mortalidade.
A sua técnica de pastiche sónico continua bastante presente, apesar da aparente unidade de cada canção dissimular agora com outra mestria tais justaposições e sobreposições. E ainda que ‘Remember Rainbow Bridge‘ dependa fortemente de estruturas rítmicas para impulsionar as composições, Croatian Amor continua a tender para um campo altamente texturado de uma forma única.
‘Remember Rainbow Bridge’ é uma celebração do espaço liminar entre as fases da vida, uma cristalização da crisálida da juventude. É um registo sobre a aproximação ao nosso lugar no mundo em constante mudança, o seu título incitando-nos a ver a realidade com um olhar de criança, a nunca esquecer o que há de milagroso em frente a nós. “Este mundo, tal como o vemos, agora falece.“
__________________________________________ O Colectivo Casa Amarela (CCA) e a Rua das Gaivotas 6 iniciaram uma parceria em 2020 que propunha uma ocupação curatorial de música, cuja periodicidade seria mensal. A fórmula é simples: um sábado ao mês, o CCA dá a conhecer umx artista sonoro e os seus mais recentes trabalhos. Este mês, o programa muda-se para uma quinta-feira para poder acolher Rahbek pela terceira vez em Lisboa!

EN ‘Remember Rainbow Bridge’, the new album by Croatian Amor, is a homage to youth and the delicate metamorphosis that occurs as childhood trips into maturity. Focused on this tender flux, the songs on ‘Remember Rainbow Bridge’ are infused with the restless energy of adolescence and a dawning sense of mortality. From the sun-kissed title track, to the night burn and wet pavement of ‘Paper Birds’, monumental highs are shuffled with great lows that we perhaps feel most clearly and earnestly in those formative years. Since the earliest collages committed to tape under the name of Croatian Amor, Loke Rahbek’s alias has at every step gravitated towards constant discovery and experimentation. The sound collages are still present while the unity of each song’s construction now often conceals the juxtapositions and overlapping edges. And while ‘Remember Rainbow Bridge’ heavily relies on rhythmic structures to propel the compositions, Croatian Amor continues to tend a highly textured field in his own inimitable way. ‘Remember Rainbow Bridge’ is a celebration of the liminal space between phases of life, the chrysalis of youth. It is a record about coming to terms with our ever-changing place in the world, its title urging us to see the world with a child’s eye, to never forget the miraculous at play only an arm’s-length away. “This world as we see it is passing away”
__________________________________________ The Casa Amarela (Yellow House) Collective (CCA) and Rua das Gaivotas 6 started a partnership in 2020 that proposed a curatorial occupation of music, whose periodicity would be monthly. The formula is simple: one Saturday a month, CCA will showcase a sound artist and their latest works. This month, the programme shifts to a Thursday in order to host Rahbek in Lisbon for the third time.
