This is the first of a number of tours around Bonfim and, to begin, we've not only chosen a "where" but also a when. Often forgotten, Bonfim is clearly the Porto of the 1800s, trapped between old estates converted into modern thoroughfares, where farmhouses became the petits palais of the newly enriched bourgeoisie were (and are set) side by side with the lives of those who lived below the poverty line on the slopes cascading to the river, but it was also where progress came into the city, as the train reached Campanhã and following suit, many factories and workshops.
What stories does it unravel and what beautiful narratives does the locality recount? Join us, bring your camera and comfortable footwear to discover and share a wonderful afternoon with the most amazing sunset views to the Douro!
