Este sábado acontece entre as 16h e as 20h a abertura da exposição de arte “Ensaios sobre a Espera”, de Silvana Mello. O DJ Set fica a cargo da música e artista multifacetada Violeta Luz. A artista plástica brasileira Silvana Mello reúne trabalhos criados nos últimos três anos, altura em que chegou a Portugal. A sua obra baseia-se na figuração e faz uma mistura de experiências pessoais, revisitando memórias do seu passado com a ligação emocional ao surf, de novo presente na sua vida em São João do Estoril, onde a artista escolheu viver. Através de pinturas feitas em tela, papel canson, porcelana ou até bordados, ela mostra-nos como observou o comportamento jovem feminino durante a pandemia. Silvana, que tem uma filha adolescente, percebeu a inquietude das raparigas enclausuradas nos seus quartos e nos seus pequenos mundos, em isolamento durante uma espera incerta. Em contraponto com tudo isto, surgem como pano de fundo os espaços livres e as belezas naturais da linda Costa Portuguesa. O feminismo no seu trabalho continua presente, agora de uma forma mais subtil, ao mostrar mulheres ativas e fortes mas de uma forma mais lúdica e menos panfletária. A mostra tem um formato despretensioso, nos moldes independentes do DIY (Do It Yourself), como se a artista recebesse os amigos para conversar, mostrar as pinturas, “ouvir um bom som” e conviver num ambiente distinto de uma galeria de arte. A exposição estará na Chasing Rabbits até ao dia 1 de Dezembro. Entrada gratuita. ................................. Opening of the exhibition “Ensaios sobre a Espera” by Silvana Mello & DJ set from Violeta Luz This Saturday, between 4pm and 8pm, will take place the opening of the art exhibition “Ensaios sobre a Espera”, by Silvana Mello. The multifaceted musician and artist Violeta Luz will be in charge of the DJ set. Brazilian plastic artist Silvana Mello brings together works created in the last three years, when she arrived in Portugal. Her work is based on figuration and combines personal experiences, revisiting memories of her past with an emotional connection to surfing, once again present in her life in São João do Estoril, where the artist chose to live. Through paintings made on canvas, canson paper, porcelain or even embroidery, she shows us how she observed young female behavior during the pandemic. Silvana, who has a teenage daughter, noticed the restlessness of the girls confined in their rooms and in their little worlds, in isolation during an uncertain wait. In contrast to all this, the open spaces and the natural beauties of the beautiful Portuguese coast appear in the background. The feminism in her work is still present, now in a more subtle way, showing active and strong women, but in a more playful and less pamphletary way. The exhibition has an unpretentious format, in the independent method of DIY (Do It Yourself), as if the artist gets friends together to talk, shows the paintings, “listens to good music” and enjoys a different environment far from an art gallery. The exhibition will be at Chasing Rabbits until the 1st of Dezembro. Free entrance.
