This year, because of the unusually warm and dry weather for autumn, forest fires continued, even out of season. During the 15th of October, a record number of fires started and consumed a lot of our precious forest area. On that note, the opportunity to help out has arrived, in the form of planting trees! Quercus is a non-profit organisation that dedicates itself to environmental protection-related activities. On the 25th of November, we will be joining them in Bom Jesus to help with planting trees that are natural to the area. The goal of this activity is to create more sustainable forests that are more resistant to forest fires! Join us on the 25th of November, between 1p.m. and 6p.m., and help us restore our forests! Warning: to participate you *MUST* fill out the form linked above. Make sure you bring comfortable clothes, and gloves, if you'd like to wear them while planting the trees. Consider bringing a bottle of water as well! Olá Erasmus! Todos os anos ardem milhares de hectares de floresta em Portugal. Este ano, devido às temperaturas altas e ao clima seco pouco comuns no outono, continuamos a ver incêndios a ocorrer fora de estação. Durante o dia 15 de Outubro, verificou-se um número recorde de fogos iniciados, que consumiram uma enorme área florestal. Dito isto, chegou a oportunidade de ajudar, na forma de plantar árvores! A Quercus é uma organização não governamental que se dedica a actividades de defesa do ambiente. No dia 25 de Novembro vamos juntar-nos à Quercus no Bom Jesus para ajudar na plantação de árvores autóctones. O objectivo é criar bosques mais sustentáveis e resistentes a incêndios! Juntem-se a nós no dia 25 de Novembro, entre as 13h e as 18h, e ajudem-nos a recuperar os nossos bosques! Aviso: para poderem participar TÊM que preencher o formulário obrigatório. Tragam roupa confortável e luvas, caso queiram usá-las enquanto plantam as árvores. Pensem também em trazer uma garrafa de água! O lanche é oferecido pela Quercus! :) O ponto de encontro vai ser à frente do sinal vermelho da universidade, às 13h. A partir daí vamos a pé até à paragem de autocarro.
