O activista da slam poetry Mick Mengucci traz à Sagrada Família Kwame Aidoo, aka kwame write, poeta e artista da spoken word do Gana! [ ENTRADA LIVRE ] kwame 'write' aidoo graduated with a degree in biochemistry from knust and is currently studying international cultural management with leuphana university. his work invests in human connections and experiments with west african folklore and symbolism in tandem with contemporary griot forms to infiltrate sociopolitical standards and interrogate conceptual barriers. he was long-listed for golden baobab children’s literature awards in 2014. he founded inkfluent; a poetry movement which workshops teens and kids in and out of school as well as prisoners and persons with disabilities using poetry and visual content infused with african symbolism such as asante adinkra or ga samai. inkfluent also partners with national theatre of ghana to organize national slam events. he founded the annual art fusion festival called the write experience in ghana and co-directs the lekema street art festival which was launched in togo last year. he has been published in several magazines, newspapers and online sites like ghana showbiz and business times newspapers, tuck magazine, kalahari review, artvilla, thejrshow, etc., and his audio content gets airplay in a few countries around the world. he loves traveling, collaborating and documenting west african art and music and has had his articles published on popular websites, example musicinafrica and artisttrove. his band is led by the blood drum spirit ensemble master drummer and umat professor royal hartigan and japanese musicologist hitomi tono'ka. they merge different art forms, colliding sounds and visuals to create new concepts to impart on the senses and distort images we once felt familiar with to change our perceptions about the use of body and space. He has collaborated with several renowned artists around the world for events, music, installations, etc including dahveed nelson of the last poets, toril johannessen, sarah kay, paul d. rodgers, manchilde, wanlov the kubolor, afro moses, onaje murray, leila adu, nii ayikwei parkes, bibie brew, serge attukwei clottey, zohra opoku, bernard akoi, adam cadell, joelle taylor, etc. he has mentored on digital storytelling at tertiary and corporate institutions in ghana. he curated all three editions of vocal portraits compilations to promote audio poetry with music from africa and connect artists from diverse backgrounds and cultures. he has participated in chale wote festival - ghana(2014/2015), jeu dit jeudi slam- togo(2014), flupp slam- brasil(2015), grand nuit d'un slam- burkina faso(2015), bodies of knowledge- austria(2016) and has been invited for a residency in november with waaw centre for art and design in senegal and portugal slams this october. he is currently collaborating in an installation that involves neon lights, argon gas, electronic waste mixed media and texts with performance embodying the scientific effigy of aurora borealis to be exhibited at nasjonalmuseet- norway this september. he is ama sefa's father.
