He's been Kking Kong and just PEDRO, taking his bass music to venues such as Lux, B.Leza or Musicbox, where he's now in charge of the Arrebita nights. He has travelled abroad to almost two dozen countries, playing at festivals and iconic venues such as London's The Jazz Cafe and Berlin's Berghain. But the name he is known by today was only adopted after the release of his debut album, Da Linha, in 2020, through his lifelong label, Enchufada - which has included him on several compilations and released most of his EPs since 2012. As Pedro da Linha, in recent years he has shared studios, booths and festival stages with other international musicians and producers, including Merca Bae, Kelman Duran and Álvaro Romero. At the same time, he helped mould crucial albums by Pedro Mafama, such as Por Este Rio Abaixo (2021) and Estava No Abismo Mas Dei Um Passo Em Frente (2023); Ana Moura's Casa Guilhermina (2022); or DECLIVE (2023), by EU.CLIDES. Collaboration after collaboration, he has deepened a study of traditional Portuguese rhythms that has shaped his work in recent years, both live, as in the EP Rua da Rosa, 24 (2023), or in the single Aqui se faz, aqui se paga, with The Legendary Tigerman and Lucy Val. He is preparing to release Dicas, by Enchufada, on 8 November. The new EP brings together four bangers that cross borders and musical genres, created in partnership with Dianka, Branko, Lapili, Mu540 and Junior PK. A second album, inspired by Portuguese rhythms, is also in the pipeline.
