The Loafing Heroes é uma banda internacional de dream-folk, baseada em Lisboa. A ação de ‘Loafing’, ou o ser errante, vagabundo, ou um flâneur, pode ser considerada um dos últimos atos de alegria subversiva numa era de aceleração e amnésia. A banda lançou seis álbuns. O mais recente chama-se ‘meandertales’, que foi gravado pelo quarteto de Bartholomew Ryan (voz, guitarra), Giulia Gallina (voz, piano, autoharpa, concertina), Judith Retzlik (violino, trompete) e Jaime McGill (clarinete baixo). Este será um concerto raro e especial no BOTA em Lisboa, com Bartholomew, Giulia e Judith, e com a presença de um convidado especial, Gulami Yesildal no instrumento de corda Balgama Saz e na percussão Darbuka.

The Loafing Heroes are a morphing, international dream-folk band based in Lisbon. Loafing, as slow wandering, daydrifting, or being a flaneur, may be one of the last acts of subversive joy in an age of acceleration and amnesia. The band have released six albums. Their most recent is called ‘meandertales’, which was recorded by the quartet of Bartholomew Ryan (vocals, guitars), Giulia Gallina (vocals, piano, autoharp, concertina), Judith Retzlik (violin, trumpet), and Jaime McGill (bass clarinet). Personnel for this special concert at BOTA are Bartholomew, Giulia and Judith, and with special guest Gulami Yesildal on Balgama Saz string instrument and Darbuka percussion.
