Our THIS LIFE events at LOOK.Sharp are designed to present, participate and discuss all aspects of what it means to be a human being on this planet at this time. From self-improvement with our “making it happen” series, to alternative lifestyles or perspectives in our “alternate relations” series where questioning our accepted narratives it part of the group participation. Expect future discussions on sustainability, communities, solutions, theories and more to follow in the coming months.

Tonight Bruno presents an anthropology of the male status through history and their persistent dominance over society for its development and damage. With rapid social, economic and political change, many aspects of the traditional male sex role have been rendered increasingly dysfunctional and obsolete. This has led to a period of destabilisation in traditional gender roles and relationships, prompting sex role strain and a contemporary 'crisis of masculinity'.

Whether this crisis is real or perceived some of the repercussions have been devastating if we consider the rise of the alt right, toxic masculinity, depression and suicide. The reaction to loss of (particularly white) privilege needs urgent attention and thought for us to evolve collectively to a more equitable and sustainable humanity which allows all access to the wonders of our world.
